On Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in the frame of the project a conference entitled: “Integrated Management in Grapes” was held with great success on the premises of Ktima Gerovassiliou (Epanomi, Thessaloniki).
Mr. Vangelis Gerovassiliou addressed greetings. The conference was coordinated by Dr Eirini Anastasaki, Associate Researcher (BPI) and Project Coordinator, who presented the aim and the innovation of the project. Associate Professor Apostolos Kapranas (AUTH) presented the results achieved so far.
Then, Dr Spyridon Antonatos, Associate Researcher (BPI), referred to the main entomological enemies of the grapevine. Professor Varvara Malioga (AUTH) focused on the main viruses and viroids of the grapevine and focused on Grapevine leafroll disease (GLD). Dr. Seraphim Theocharis (AUTH) presented the climate crisis’ impact on the grapevine and the new perspectives.
Agronomists from the Ministry of Rural Development and Food and the Prefectures, viticulturists, and oenologists attended, and they were informed about the project’s results. At the same time, key topics were developed and discussed for the integrated management of entomological enemies, diseases in the grapevine, and ways that will contribute to mitigating the adverse effects of climate change.
